Blood donations can save lives and are easy to make as long as you meet the health requirements. Many of us have built up a wealth of experience in our professional careers. Sharing this expertise with others through volunteering is an excellent way to ensure skills aren’t wasted. Doctors and nurses can volunteer at free clinics, engineers can lend their skills to community improvement projects, and teachers can support adult literacy programs. Some communities set up public boards where residents can share their skills so people can find everything from a handyman to someone who can help tutor their children.
